ArteBA Style: ARTY MOOD

This year, my attendance at the opening of ArteBA -the most important art fair in the country- was hopelessly a hurry visit. Thus, an overwhelming maelstrom of contemporary art and restless characters, of which my sensors only rescued two basic experiences: the great works of Julio Le Parc and my meeting with Marta Minujín, one of the most prominent and prolific Argentinian plastic artists.
Once called the Lady Gaga of local art, the multifaceted artist was one of the promoters of the visual art movement Pop Art, and several of her impressive works made history, as the sculptures of ephemeral art, happenings, performances and multisensorial environments of participatory art.

Textures, Mondrian pattern & bold ethnic bijoux

Albino hair cut straight and sunglasses as permanent makeup are the strong signature style of this eccentric queen of pop art, amusing and unique even to dress. With her peculiar style -ineffable mixture of overalls and Warholian, avant-garde clothing with kitsch extras, profuse decorative pieces and jewelry of various (and sometimes unexpected) source-, Minujín reaffirms that vocation to join every aspect of her life to the artistic sense.
